MEET ZARA
She/Her;
Lifelong Learner;
Lover of all things food, sunsets, movement, and cottage roads;
Gemini.
Life has a funny way of showing us what truly matters, and for me, that has been discovering a passion for creating and nurturing healthy human connections. I believe everyone deserves the chance to feel like their best self, and I strive to offer clients a space where they can be vulnerable and feel heard in a pressure-free and supportive environment. For me, therapy is about more than addressing challenges – it’s about fostering connection, growth, and a sense of empowerment that can ripple into all areas of life.
As a lifelong learner, I’m committed to consistent growth - both personally and professionally. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from The University of Guelph, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Social Work. I also hold a Master of Arts in Applied Behaviour Analysis and am currently completing my Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University. Although my path to becoming a psychotherapist hasn’t been the most conventional (or the quickest), my journey has taught me plenty about rolling with life’s challenges while finding meaning and a little laughter along the way.
My clinical work has led me to understand that therapy is far from a one-size-fits-all experience, and I strive to help clients feel supported and seen for who they are! My approach to care is rooted in being trauma-informed – Which means I prioritize safety, trust and empowerment, while recognizing how past and present experiences can shape our well-being. I place value in meeting you where you’re at – honouring your pace, your needs and your readiness for change.
As a client, you’re the expert of your own story and I’m grateful to be here with you as we explore it together.
