Through my own life experiences, and working closely with people in distress, I’ve come to understand that what many people need most is a safe place to explore themselves; their thoughts and beliefs, their relationships, their emotions. We live in a world that can be a difficult place to feel in control and accepted as who we are, and this can have great impacts on our mental health. This is why I work with a holistic approach - I see you as a whole person, shaped by your unique experience, relationships, values, and the world around you. My goal is to understand your experiences as you understand them. Together, we can explore what is happening in your life, where you feel stuck, and what might help you move toward the life you want to live.
My journey to being a therapist began when I decided to study psychology at Brock University. This led to me working at a crisis agency, where I discovered a love for working with people during their most vulnerable moments. It is a profound privilege to bear witness to another person’s pain and to know that, within the space we create together, healing can begin. With this in mind, I decided to get my master’s degree in counselling psychology, which I am currently completing. I am humbled by those who have trusted me with their stories and allowed me to learn from their experiences. I would be honoured to hold yours.
I welcome diversity and strive to build safety with you, regardless of your spiritual beliefs, race, gender, sexuality, or any other aspect of yourself that shapes your experience of the world. I aim to be sensitive to your needs and strongly believe that the relationship we build as client and therapist is central to the success of our work together. You know your experiences better than anyone, and I see my role as working alongside you to understand those experiences and find a way forward.
You don’t have to carry this alone, and you don’t have to know the way forward to get started. We can find the way forward together.
