Life is a journey, and in this journey are many pleasures and obstacles. It is the brave amongst us that seek out therapy and hope to live their best possible lives. We all struggle, some more than others, but with these struggles we obtain strength. We all have strengths and weaknesses, and it is how we use our strengths to minimize our weaknesses that brings about our successes.
I received my RN in 1988 and worked for several years in Cardiac surgery at the Hamilton General Hospital. I have always had a keen interest in mental health and worked in the community as a mental health nurse. My most recent employment was at the Niagara Health System as an RN Psychotherapist where I was part of an interdisciplinary team providing psychoeducation and treatment to individuals with trauma.
I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walden University, and a master’s in psychology from Walden University. I am also certified as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider.
I was born and raised in Hamilton and moved to the Niagara Region over 30 years ago.
My areas of interest and expertise include:
ADHD in adults (particularly women), autism, trauma, DBT, CBT, ACT, and strength-based approaches.
